Sometimes there's this moment...this single moment that stops your heart, your breathing, your thinking...yet for anyone who witnesses it, it seems just as normal, just as average as the moment that preceded it. But for you...for you it stopped the world on its axis and something changed. A light flicked on. Things became clearer. You stood taller.
Those are my favorite.
There's just something about that moment, something so powerful as to change everything yet remain completely undetected by everyone but you.
It comes with a look. A word. A single gesture. A series of thoughts that takes you down a path you've walked before, but for some reason leads you somewhere you've never been. You didn't know existed.
Eyes meeting. Breath expelling. Arms opening. A stampede of neurons firing in the same perfect sequence as before, but lighting up one that had been waiting to make its true debut. You never knew it was there.
And those moments make the normal ones, the average ones before it all that more important because you never really know when the "Ah-ha!" moment will appear. It makes every moment a step towards the light, the clarity, the growing strength.
But it doesn't matter how many "Ah-ha!" moments you have...each one is just as amazing as the one before. They never cease to stop your heart, your breath, your thinking. And they'll always show up when you least expect them.
Just as most good things do.
